Jayden update part 3

We are still here. We really don't know how long. Jayden is still very sick. The doctors are thinking he has a virus and are trying to find out what it is. They have been saying this all along and think that a virus is possibly what pushed him over the edge for his pumonary hypertension to flare up. They are trying to gradually wean him down on his ventilator settings. The PICU doctors are afraid that they will not be able to wean him off the ventilator, which is a scary thing for us. We are not giving up hope that he will recover. The doctors are watching his kidney functions. They are afraid his kidneys may be going into failure. We are hoping it was just some of the drugs that he has been on. The doctor decided to take him off the paralyzing drip. I was very glad for this, because now Jayden seems to be more aware of things around him. Being paralyzed it just looks like he is sleeping. He has had a rash for the past week, which they don't know why. The pharmacist seems to think it may have been caused by one of the drugs, but pinpointing which one would be almost impossible, as he is on so many different ones. It seems that things change from day to day with him. Some days are better than others. Tyler and Nick are having a hard time with this. They want us all to come home soon, as do we! Grandma and grandpa are taking good care of them. I don't know what else to say. I'm sure I'm forgeting something. But I guess this is it for now.
